Online retail stores such as Amazon in France have recently agreed to postpone Black Friday sales until all other shops reopen. This followed a petition launched by political and cultural figures, environmental organisations and trade unions calling on consumers to boycott the platform for the upcoming holidays. Online retail giant Amazon, which already operated during the first lockdown in France, saw its activity soar by 50 percent. Now, small French businesses are trying to fight back.
